My name is Regina D. Battle and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #107639), Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, and Christian counselor. I practice community based, culturally defined practices and relevant psychotherapy in Los Banos, California. I have 8 years’ experience working for an African-American Family Resource Center, the experience allows me to address and provide stigma reducing interventions useful in treating historical trauma and multigenerational issues from a strength based perspective. I am quite comfortable addressing multicultural and social justice issues such as racism, discrimination, criminal justice disparities, and oppression. I work with all races and ethnicities. I am certain diversity encompasses acceptance, opportunity, and respect.
In addition to promoting mental health wellness in underserved communities of color, I have a particular passion and expertise working with children and teens. I believe there is a great need for preventive mental health services on school campuses; working collaboratively with students, parents, and school administrators. Fredrick Douglas said “it is easier to build strong children than to repair a broken man”. I believe it’s never too early to lay the foundation.
As a therapist, I work with you to help you identify your desires and empower you to make those positive changes in your life. I understand that making the decision to seek help can be difficult, so I use an approach that is compassionate direct, and non-judgmental to help create an environment where you feel supported in your counseling journey. Let’s get started!
